AAPG Communications Department Wins APEX 2011 Award of Excellence

The Communications Department of American Association of Petroleum Geologists has been awarded the APEX 2011 Award of Excellence in the Member & Customer Communications category for its work on the multi-media “We Are AAPG” project.

According to the APEX 2011 judges, “The awards were based on excellence in graphic design, quality of editorial content and the success of the entry in conveying the message and achieving overall communications effectiveness.”

The “We Are AAPG” project included a 32-page four-color, hard-bound book with a credit card-shaped USB that included a downloadable PowerPoint and video presentations about the Association.  Also created was an attractive key-shaped USB presented in a small pouch that contained the presentations.  The AAPG-branded USBs were intended for continued use by the recipients to provide a lasting reminder of the services the Association provides.
