K-12 Teacher and Student Resources Now Available
The Youth Education Activities Committee has launched a website designed to provide earth science resources for teachers and students in grades ranging from kindergarten to high school senior. The website is open to the public and is available at the following location: K-12 Resources for Teachers and Their Students http://www.aapg.org/k12resources/
The culmination of months of research and careful evaluation of online resources, the page provides links to informative and entertaining educational resources in earth science.
The site also contains a PowerPoint movie, developed by Joanne Billingsley, which encourages students to consider careers in geosciences. Entitled “Why Geosciences?” (http://www.aapg.org/k12resources/GeoscienceExplained.cfm), the movie provides information on trends and opportunities.
