Applied Petroleum Systems for Reservoir Modeling: Finding the Sweet-Spots in Unconventional Reservoirs
Petroleum systems analysis, commonly referred to as basin modeling, is most commonly applied at a regional scale to better understand the generation, migration and alteration of petroleum fluids. With current expanding interest in shale resource plays, petroleum systems analysis has become increasingly more important in assessing the viability and strategic development these potentially prolific resources not only at the basin scale, but also at the local reservoir scale. Industry professionals Daniel Carruthers and Jeffery Yarus will be presenting this discussion on petroleum systems analysis. They will provide basic reviews of petroleum systems and earth modeling principles, along with the methods and workflows to apply static fluid and maturation properties to deterministic or stochastic reservoir models. This two day course will be part of the 2014 Summer Education Conference and will take place Thursday and Friday June 19-20 in Aurora, Colorado at the Summit Conference Center.
